I don't release singles.

Ok, we did release a single.

Upon finishing "Stereomoon" new songs had started to work in.

Soon enough, I had written our follow up. It felt pretty complete.

On it, I was featuring more electric 12 string, so it was almost in tune when I grabbed it one morning.

My hands usually kinda drift around until I find something interesting. As soon as that riff came under my fingers, the opening line hit me...

I kinda croaked it out, and heard the entire song.

With a few small additions, I added the new line onto some existing words and had a song in 15 minutes.

It didn't seem to fit with the others. I didn't want to start writing another 'to-be recorded' album.

The band and I jammed it, and it came together really well. It felt like a good showcase of where the band was musically, as we had grown since 'Field Guide'.

So, we immediately recorded it, mixed it, had it mastered by the wonderful Matt Haw, and out within a month of that sunny morning when it was written.

It came so effortlessly it seemed unreal, it just seemed like the right time for a single.

So, written after the next album, out before Stereomoon.

Check.
